Job Overview

We are seeking a seasoned Technical Team Lead to oversee the development and delivery of our Linux kernels. This individual will be responsible for guiding a team of software engineers in various aspects of kernel development, including optimization, quality control, and security.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Lead a distributed team of software engineers in delivering high-quality Linux kernels.
  • Take ownership of specific areas of kernel development, such as partner collaborations, hardware compatibility, and quality control.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and efficient progress.
Requirements:
  • Significant programming experience in C, with proficiency in other languages like Python, Golang, or similar.
  • Substantial knowledge of operating system kernel internals and concepts, with a strong preference for Linux.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing or leading teams of software engineers.
  • Ability to coordinate between multiple teams with diverse technical focuses to achieve common goals.
  • Familiarity with version control practices, ideally with git.
  • Prior experience developing with software packaging formats, particularly with Ubuntu/Debian/Snap.
  • Professional written and spoken English with excellent presentation skills.
  • Ability to travel internationally for company events up to two weeks long.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
  • Demonstrated expertise with kernel patching and debugging.
  • Strong understanding of device drivers, BSPs, and low-level system engineering.
  • Solid background in driving CI/CD and process automation initiatives.
  • Prior public involvement with an open-source project.
