Provider Credentialing Specialist Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated professional to fill the Provider Credentialing Specialist role. In this position, you will be responsible for ensuring timely and accurate provider credentialing, maintaining compliance, and supporting smooth practice operations.

The Provider Credentialing Specialist will be accountable for:

  • Supporting new practice setups and assisting with credentialing requirements.
  • Tracking and following up on outstanding applications to ensure timely enrollment.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date provider records in credentialing software and electronic folders.
  • Organizing and maintaining credential files, ensuring compliance with company policies.
  • Managing provider credentials (e.g., medical licenses, DEA, COIs) and setting reminders for expirations.
  • Maintaining CAQH re-attestation schedules and completing re-attestations as required.
  • Responding to incoming requests regarding renewed credentials or W-9s.
  • Submitting change of information to health plans.
  • Following up with health plans and medical facilities regarding applications, changes, or contracts.
  • Providing research and administrative support for special projects.
  • Ensuring HIPAA compliance by safeguarding protected health information at all times.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A college graduate or at least 2 years of college; medical-related degree/coursework is a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to meet deadlines.
  • Able to handle confidential information responsibly.
  • Proficient in email and computer-based systems; prior experience with credentialing software is a plus.
  • Self-motivated, dependable, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Flexible, adaptable, and a strong team player.
  • Prior call center or medical accounts/programs experience is a plus.
