Senior Financial Manager

We are seeking an experienced Senior Financial Manager to lead our financial operations. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for managing payroll, superannuation, and ensuring timely settlement of liabilities.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Australian financial regulations and experience in financial planning, analysis, reporting, and policy development.

This is a fully remote position with flexibility, aligned with the Sydney, Australia time zone, and a 38-hour work week. You will work closely with the bookkeeping team to provide transaction data and ensure account reconciliation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Financial Operations & Compliance: Manage payroll, superannuation, and ensure timely settlement of ATO liabilities.
  • Receivables & Invoicing: Monitor accounts receivable, follow up on payments, and ensure accurate invoicing.
  • Expense Monitoring & Financial Oversight: Track spending, adhere to budgets, investigate transactions, and oversee cash flow and liabilities.
  • Bookkeeping Support & Coordination: Provide transaction data to bookkeepers, ensure account reconciliation, and respond to financial inquiries.
  • Reporting & Communication: Prepare financial reports for management, assist auditors, and provide financial insights for decision-making.

Requirements:

  • Chartered Accountant (CA) or CPA qualification; post-graduate qualifications are highly regarded.
  • 5+ years in a senior financial role, preferably in non-profit or community organizations.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian financial regulations (ATO, superannuation), ASIC, and ACNC frameworks.
  • Experience in financial planning, analysis, reporting, and policy development.
  • Proficiency in Xero, MS Excel/Google Sheets, and ideally Salesforce.
  • Leadership skills, results-driven, and team-building abilities.
  • High ethics and integrity, committed to delivering exceptional results.
