Finance Systems Automation Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled System Automation Specialist to join our team.

This is a techno-functional position that requires strong technical and functional knowledge to analyze system issues, triage bugs, and partner with cross-functional teams to deliver robust solutions.

You will be responsible for the full lifecycle of system improvements, from gathering business requirements and designing solutions to hands-on configuration, scripting, testing, and continuous support.

Main Responsibilities:

Automation & Process Optimization:

• Closely collaborate with integration and automation teams to automate key financial processes and workflows.
• Proactively interview business users to identify opportunities for automation and propose solutions that increase efficiency and reduce manual effort.
• Deep dive into system processes to understand, document, and propose optimizations.
• Work with integration APIs to build and manage automated data flows between systems.
• Research and analyze available market AI solutions to identify opportunities, and then analyze and propose solutions that can benefit the organization.

Business Requirements & Analysis:

• Works closely with business partners, internal or external, to understand processes, gaps, and goals.
• Analyze existing and future state business processes, systems, and flows of data.
• Develop and maintain documentation related to developing and modifying business processes and systems.
• Partner with business, internal, and external technology teams to define associated system requirements and solutions.
• Participate in systems implementation projects (requirements documentation, systems configuration, test documentation/execution, issue identification and resolution).
• Be the techno-functional person who can provide technical/functional solutions to business.

Business Solutions Design, Delivery & Support:

• Work hands on to solving technical/systems issues by investigating system configurations, system integrations, and API's.
• Proactive and takes initiative to gather information, investigate gaps/issues, identifies potential solutions, and presents to both Business and IT stakeholders.
• Facilitate review sessions with functional owners, subject matter experts, and end-user representatives.
• Work with various teams to investigate finance production support issues and ensure timely resolution.
• Optimize finance systems and processes to scale with the growth by identifying and implementing processes and managing daily issues, reporting, and month-end close that will improve the overall operation and efficiency of the Finance organization.
• Work with cross-functional teams to develop project milestones and timelines for development, UAT, production validation, and go live.
• Participate in scheduled system upgrades, including test plan development, testing, reviewing, and evaluating new functionality.
• Support delivery of reporting, dashboards, and business intelligence capabilities through partnership with IT and Business.
• Lead and perform data management and migration activities.
• Ensure training and timely communications in accordance with project timelines.
• Engage in other areas of Finance such as Security, Compliance (SOX), Reporting, Production, and participate in change management support to ensure projects are addressed from end to end and the needs, interests, and success criteria of the business are met.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in Information & Computer Science or related field.
  • 7+ years of experience implementing, configuring, customizing, developing, and integrating one or more enterprise applications or SaaS software (e.g., NetSuite, Oracle, SAP, Coupa, Concur et al)
  • Good functional and configuration-level understanding of one or more areas including but not limited to ERP System Administration, Order to Cash, Procure to Pay, Invoicing, Revenue Recognition, Taxation, Customer Billing, etc.
  • Proficient in SQL, JavaScript, and data mapping concepts.
  • Candidates must have experience in NetSuite scripting and development.
  • Experience with building web services integrations (REST/SOAP).
  • Experience with integration APIs is essential for this role.
  • Proven ability to perform research and analysis on new technologies, including AI solutions.
  • Knowledge of automation tools such as UiPath or RPA platforms is a bonus.
  • Experience with system integration tools (e.g., Dell Boomi, Celigo) is a plus.
  • Proven ability to learn complex, distributed systems quickly and thoroughly.
  • Document complex systems, processes, events, and architectures.
  • Must be customer-centric and have the interpersonal skills necessary to manage business and technology relationships.
  • Must be a self-starter, deal with ambiguity, and thrive in a rapidly changing business environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively (written and verbally) with both technical and non-technical parties.

We're Looking for Someone Who:

Has 7+ years of experience implementing, configuring, customizing, developing, and integrating enterprise applications or SaaS software.

Is proficient in SQL, JavaScript, and data mapping concepts.

Has experience in NetSuite scripting and development.

Has experience with building web services integrations (REST/SOAP) and integration APIs.

Can work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

Can effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
