The role of a T&D Line Standards Specialist involves providing technical expertise in creating, developing, and modifying standards, guidelines, and procedures for the planning, design, installation, maintenance, and operation of transmission and distribution lines.
Key Responsibilities:- Engineering Governance & Standards
- Ensure accurate and up-to-date technical data specifications and requirements by referencing current industry standards and practices to ensure system compatibility, safety, and reliability.
- Conduct regular audits to check the accuracy and relevance of existing governance documents to identify outdated or incorrect information.
- Develop, implement, and maintain standards such as construction standards, equipment standards, etc.
- Research & Development
- Identify areas for improvement by reviewing current practices and comparing them against industry standards relevant to the organization's initiatives to help streamline processes.
- Provide support in the implementation of the organization's initiatives to ensure system compatibility, safety, and reliability.
- Assess the impact of new technologies on standards and identify the need for new ones.
- Professional: Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience in overhead line design with strong knowledge about equipment technical specifications of insulator, poles, wires, hardware, and fittings, etc., and applicable standards.
- Project: Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience in the design and implementation of T&D Line projects.
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Registered Electrical Engineer.
