Senior Data Engineer


Job Description:

The Senior Data Engineer is primarily responsible for designing, developing and implementing data solutions for the enterprise data warehouse. The primary focus of the data warehouse includes data and analytics that support business operations across multiple departments.

This role requires expertise in building and managing large-scale data engineering code in modern cloud-based technologies such as Google BigQuery or equivalent. We are looking for a highly skilled individual willing to learn and evolve and contribute to high-impact projects in the healthcare industry.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Designing, developing and deploying data pipelines for optimal extraction, transformation and loading of data from various sources using GCP and SQL technologies.
  • Building analytical tools to utilize the data pipeline and provide actionable insights into key business performance metrics.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders including data, design and product teams to resolve technical issues related to data.
  • Participating in unit and system testing and following existing change control processes for promoting solutions to production systems, escalating issues as needed.
  • Developing and deploying data models, data structures, and metadata management frameworks.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong understanding of data engineering principles and practices.
  • Expertise in cloud-based data warehousing and big data processing technologies such as Google BigQuery or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python and Scala.
  • Ability to build and optimize complex data sets and data pipelines.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under tight deadlines.
