The Accounting Specialist plays a pivotal role in our organization by performing routine accounting activities with utmost precision and accuracy. Their primary responsibilities include payroll, general ledger posting, accounts payable and receivable functions, as well as the preparation of various accounting reports and financial statements.
This position requires a strong understanding of standard accounting concepts, practices, and procedures, including the ability to post journal entries with ease. The ideal candidate will be proficient in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including cash flows for multiple clients and industries.

- Prepare bank reconciliations and credit card reconciliations.
- Understand how payroll preparation and monthly transaction entry relate to year-end information.
- Review accounts for appropriate postings and calculate retained earnings.
- Assist clients with accounting, payroll, and basic software issues.
- Prepare quarterly and year-end payroll tax returns.
- Assist tax/accounting and audit departments with reports from client information.
- Prepare annual information returns (1099 & 1096).
- Prepare monthly/quarterly sales and use and CAT tax returns, when applicable.
- Prepare accrual to cash conversions, when applicable.
- Identify potential additional services to benefit current clients.
- Add and dispose of fixed assets, updating depreciation schedules.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts to supporting data.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or relevant field.
- US Accounting experience is a must.
- Strong understanding of US generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and practices, with proficiency in financial statement preparation and analysis.
- Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, NetSuite) and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and work effectively in a remote team environment.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on delivering accurate and timely work under tight deadlines.
- Ability to manage multiple client engagements simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
