We are seeking a skilled Electrical Estimator to lead our estimating function for electrical construction projects. The ideal candidate will analyze blueprints and technical documentation to generate accurate and competitive cost estimates.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare Detailed Estimates: Assemble organized and accurate estimates and proposals for design-build and construction projects.
  • Interpret Project Drawings: Review and interpret project drawings, specifications, and scope of work.
  • Negotiate Competitive Quotes: Solicit, analyze, and negotiate competitive quotes from trades and suppliers.
  • Maintain Records: Maintain and update records of unit rates and standard pricing.
  • Collaborate with Stakeholders: Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to clarify project details and ensure alignment.
  • Track Project Changes: Track and manage project changes and document cost impacts.
  • Support Project Execution: Support project execution by providing technical input and cost-effective solutions.
  • Improve Processes: Contribute to continuous improvement of estimating and project planning processes.
Requirements:
  • Electrical Estimating Experience: 3-5 years of relevant experience as an Electrical Estimator.
  • Estimating Expertise: Proven expertise in electrical estimating for residential, commercial, and retail projects.
  • Industry Knowledge: Strong knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code and industry standards.
  • Estimating Tools: Proficiency with estimating tools such as Accubid or similar software.
  • Mathematical Skills: Strong mathematical, analytical, and budgeting skills.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication and negotiation skills.
  • Project Management: Demonstrated success in project management, scheduling, and cost control.
  • Team Leadership: Team leadership and stakeholder relationship management experience.
