Role Overview

The Patient Services Representative plays a crucial role in addressing patient queries and concerns, understanding their needs by listening and interviewing, and coordinating information among patients, family members, medical personnel, and administrative staff. They should be familiar with policies and procedures, medical resources, and regulations to support patient healthcare treatment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to incoming calls according to established protocols and standards.
  • Assist patients in resolving their queries and concerns.
  • Collect outstanding patient balances.
  • Communicate with third-party entities regarding patients' accounts.
  • Place outbound collection calls according to procedure and departmental standards.
  • Provide assistance to patients with billing-related queries and concerns.
  • Ensure data confidentiality by safeguarding protected health information.
  • Collaborate with the team to achieve department and company objectives.
  • Maintain good attendance and punctual return from breaks.
Required Qualifications and Skills
  • Preferrably a college graduate or at least two years of college education, with degrees and courses related to the medical field being advantageous.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.
  • Confidentiality and ability to handle sensitive information.
  • Basic mathematical calculations and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in email usage and other basic computer applications.
  • Highly motivated and organized individual.
