Geospatial Analyst

We seek a seasoned Geospatial Analyst to collaborate on high-impact projects that leverage cutting-edge technologies and geospatial expertise. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for analyzing and modeling remote sensing data to drive project design, feasibility assessment, implementation, and long-term monitoring.

  • You will analyze and model remote sensing and geospatial data for applications such as land cover/use mapping, fire risk assessment, above-ground biomass estimation, and deforestation risk modeling.
  • You will leverage cloud computing, machine learning, and scripting languages (Python, JavaScript, SQL) to build automated workflows, enhance geospatial infrastructure, and support MRV (Monitoring, Reporting & Verification) processes.
  • You will support field data collection through drone coordination and validation activities, providing technical guidance and training, and ensuring geospatial quality control across teams. Strong emphasis is placed on clear documentation, reporting, and communication of remote sensing outputs for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
  • You will design and implement remote sensing projects, including data analysis, modeling, and visualization.
  • You will develop and maintain geospatial databases and infrastructure, including cloud-based solutions.
  • You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate remote sensing insights into project decision-making.
  • You will provide training and technical guidance to team members on remote sensing techniques and tools.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in GIS, Environmental Science, Forestry, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in remote sensing and GIS.
  • Expertise in workflow automation, machine learning/deep learning techniques for image classification and segmentation.
  • In-depth knowledge and experience of RS/GIS implementation for forestry, conservation, land use in AFOLU carbon projects.
  • Familiarity with photogrammetry software (e.g., Pix4D, DroneDeploy, Agisoft).
  • Programming skills in Python and Google Earth Engine.
