Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Software Engineer to lead our team in developing innovative features and improving the user experience of our text-to-speech app.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Owning major features and collaborating with our design team to deliver high-quality features
  • Shaping the future of our team and driving innovation
  • Ensuring reliability metrics for key features and owning their maintenance and improvement
  • Participating in cross-functional discussions across Product, Design, and Engineering teams
  • Reviewing pull requests and supporting teammates
  • Handling critical issues and coping with unexpected challenges
  • Leading feature releases and providing nightly builds for QA
Ideal Candidate Profile:
  • 5+ years of software engineering experience
  • Familiarity with Android components and experience building or contributing to at least one Android app
  • Product design intuition and user empathy
  • Drive to push the boundaries of Android UI/UX
  • Understanding of tests and ability to write them
  • Self-drive to improve the app and codebase above and beyond the spec
  • Expertise in Kotlin, Kotlin Coroutines, Kotlin Flow, Dagger 2, MVVM, Clean Architecture, Background Services, Music Player Service, Android Animations, Jetpack Navigation, and JUnit tests
  • Excellent communication skills and a user-oriented problem-solving approach
Bonus Qualifications:
  • Experience building, maintaining, or contributing to open source projects in Android
  • Experience with iOS, Web, or NodeJS
