Software Engineer Role Summary

Speechify is hiring a skilled software engineer to support the growth of our Android app. This role involves developing and maintaining key features, collaborating with the design team, and shaping the future of the Android team.

We are looking for a candidate with 5+ years of software engineering experience, familiarity with Android components, and expertise in Kotlin, Kotlin Coroutines, and Dagger 2.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Owning major features and delivering high-quality results.
  • Collaborating with the design team to drive product decisions.
  • Maintaining and improving reliability metrics for key features.
  • Participating in cross-team discussions and reviewing pull requests.
  • Handling critical issues and taking ownership of feature releases.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of software engineering experience.
  • Familiarity with Android components.
  • Expertise in Kotlin, Kotlin Coroutines, and Dagger 2.
  • Product design intuition and user empathy.
  • Drive to push the boundaries of Android UI/UX.
  • Understanding of testing and ability to write tests.
  • Self-drive to improve the app and codebase beyond the spec.
