Job Overview

This position will focus on the administration of US payroll, including tax compliance and planning activities.


The selected candidate will be responsible for various tasks such as:


  • Acting as a subject matter expert in payroll processing transactions, analyzing complex matters, and providing comprehensive knowledge of payroll policies and procedures.
  • Reviewing and verifying payroll reports and documents for accuracy, making necessary adjustments or corrections using established procedures.
  • Completing pre and post payroll processing activities based on implemented procedures.
  • Identifying and researching potential payroll issues, recommending courses of action in the development of new procedures and policies related to payroll operations.
  • Managing payroll tax reconciliation reporting and approvals, reviewing and approving funding for payroll tax remittances.
  • Managing new POA forms and tax authority setup, running control reports to identify new work locations that require setup in SAP and ADP Globalview.
  • Reconciling local tax setup to ensure employees are set up with the correct local tax jurisdiction code.
  • Working internally to balance, reconcile, and approve 941, 940, W2, W2c, 499W2, and 499W2c returns, resolving any discrepancies.
  • Preparing a weekly cash flow report to complete funding for Treasury/Accounts Payroll for payroll and tax funding.
  • Identifying and determining disposition of employee-related retroactive taxes not taken (N records), ensuring employer and employee adjustments are made following the HR Service Center and ADP process.
  • Providing payroll tax expertise to HR Service Center and Payroll vendors to identify and implement new legislation into systems in a timely and accurate manner. Supporting mergers, acquisition, and divestiture tax work as required.
  • Assisting with monitoring the Wage Type listing, ensuring all new and existing wage types are set up correctly for income and tax reporting purposes.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or other related field, with a CPA and/or advanced degree strongly preferred.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in payroll administration, financial reporting, and/or payroll tax.
  • Working knowledge of end-to-end payroll procedures and other pay-impacting processes, with a strong understanding of HR policies, practices, and procedures.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of payroll tax regulations and system experience with Workday, SAP Payroll, and ADP GlobalView.
  • Fluent English communication skills, both oral and written, with ability to work with confidential information, attention to detail, and accuracy.
  • Effective communication skills to work with all levels of employees, resilience, and ability to navigate computerized data entry systems or other relevant applications.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness and ability to work independently, prioritize, and multitask.
