Senior DevOps Observability Engineer

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled DevOps engineer to join our team and take on a key role in driving the adoption of observability practices across the organization.

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to design, build, and maintain an observability solution that aligns with our IT strategy and vision.

  • Collaborate with application teams to integrate the observability solution into delivery pipelines and application codebases.

  • Ensure adherence to quality and architectural standards through effective communication with governance streams.

  • Deliver against both functional and non-functional requirements, taking ownership and accountability for development of key features.

  • Communicate progress effectively and ensure impediments are raised early to minimize impact on delivery.

  • Participate in incident management to rectify production defects based on criticality and severity.

  • Guide and support teams in implementation and adherence to change control principles.

  • Understand and manage inter-project dependencies and project risks.

  • Collaborate with architecture to guide software solutions using technical expertise.

Essential Requirements:

  • Understanding of observability pillars and knowledge of tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, OpenSearch, and CloudWatch.

  • Hands-on experience in deploying and managing AWS resources.

  • Current experience in full-stack software engineering using Java, C#, TypeScript, JavaScript, or Python, along with scripting languages like PowerShell.

  • Experience in application lifecycle management tools and technologies like Source Code Management, Git, DevOps platforms, GitLab, TeamCity, Sonatype Nexus.

  • Experience in monitoring applications and infrastructure in both non-production and production systems.

Desirable Requirements:

  • Experience in setting up enterprise-level monitoring tools.

  • OpenTelemetry instrumentation and use of OTEL solutions.

  • APM experience with AppDynamics, Datadog, or Dynatrace.

  • AWS OpenSearch, Elastic, and ingestion tooling.

  • Grafana and Prometheus.

  • Knowledge of cloud technologies and concepts, preferably on AWS or Azure/GCP.

  • Experience in utilizing Dev(Sec)Ops to automate and minimize delivery times from Development to Production.

  • Use of containerization to aid deployability, testing, and loose coupling.

  • Agile exponent to speed up delivery, reduce risk, and provide maximum value to end users.

  • Knowledge of the broking trading business domain.

  • Knowledge or application of the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).
