The Role

We are looking for an experienced and proactive Senior Ruby on Rails Developer to become a foundational member of our engineering team in a new region. You are an organized, clear communicator with engineering lead or management experience, and you thrive working both independently and with remote teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain high-performance web applications using Ruby on Rails, adhering to best practices and high coding standards.
  • Collaborate closely with remote teams, providing clear and proactive communication to align on project objectives and technical specifications.
  • Lead development of core features, taking full responsibility for project execution, quality control, and deployment.
  • Support and mentor junior developers, setting an example in code quality, work organization, and communication.
  • Serve as a stabilizing influence and positive leader, helping establish a strong local team culture and setting the stage for future team expansion.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in Ruby on Rails development, with a strong portfolio of completed projects.
  • Proven experience in a leadership or management role within an engineering team.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage complex projects independently.
  • Excellent communication skills, with fluency in English and a proactive approach to collaboration.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the capacity to adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Experience working in a startup or scale-up environment.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused mindset and the ability to make strategic decisions with a long-term vision.
