Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Home-Based Dispatcher to join our team on a full-time basis. As a Home-Based Dispatcher, you will be responsible for ensuring drivers maintain compliance with DOT regulations and support customer requirements.

You will serve as a reliable point of contact to drivers and management, monitoring daily driving logs to ensure compliance with DOT regulations. Additionally, you will assist the Deputy Terminal Manager in ensuring truck and driver readiness, develop daily plans to balance the drivers' health and safety with customer requirements, and coordinate and manage the most efficient loads.

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Ensure drivers maintain compliance with DOT regulations and support customer requirements
  • Serve as a reliable point of contact to drivers and management
  • Monitor daily driving logs to ensure compliance with DOT
  • Assist Deputy Terminal Manager in ensuring truck and driver readiness
  • Develop daily plans to balance the drivers' health and safety with customer requirements
  • Coordinate and manage the most efficient loads
  • Implement programs to manage cost
  • Combine shipments based on their routes and timeline to minimize truck/driver requirement
  • Negotiate rates directly with vendors and customers
  • Identify special needs of shipment and help drivers get the necessary documents needed

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • High School Degree or Equivalent: A high school degree or equivalent is required; a logistics or transportation degree is preferred
  • Languages: Fluency in English and Spanish is preferred
  • Regulatory Compliance: Familiarity with DOT and OSHA compliance regulations
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Excel, data entry/input background, including using OneDrive
  • Communication Skills: Very clear English speaking skills – does not have to be less of an accent but must be very understandable
  • Critical Thinking and Responsiveness: Critical thinking and extremely fast responsiveness
  • Dispatcher Experience: Dispatcher experience in the past
