Job Opportunity: Technical Expert

Role Description

Our company is seeking an experienced Data Engineer to lead the development and maintenance of data pipelines, warehouses, and cloud-based systems.

The successful candidate will play a key role in designing and building robust systems for processing and analyzing large datasets. They will work closely with data scientists, analysts, product managers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and develop scalable solutions.

  • Lead the build of a new team: Foster a collaborative attitude and high-performing team environment by mentoring and guiding junior engineers.
  • Create performant batch and streaming data pipelines: Utilize tools like Apache Airflow, Apache Kafka, and Apache Flink to handle large volumes of data in real-time market data and batch formats.
  • Develop reliable and scalable data warehousing solutions: Employ Snowflake to construct data warehouses that meet business needs.
  • Build robust and scalable cloud-based systems: Use Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to design and implement cloud-based systems.
  • Improve Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment processes: Automate development, testing, and deployment using tools like Jenkins and GitLab.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and monitor various data applications, pipelines, and databases.
  • Participate in daily stand-ups and team meetings to coordinate and collaborate on development efforts.
  • Interact with stakeholders to create and build analytical products and services.
Required Skills and Qualifications

We are looking for candidates with the following skills and qualifications:

  • 5+ years of work experience in data engineering or similar.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a related technical field.
  • Experience hiring, mentoring, and leading junior engineers.
  • Proficiency in Python with at least one data manipulation framework (e.g., Pandas, Dask, Pyspark) and SQL.
  • Knowledge of other languages like Java, C#, or C++ is advantageous.
  • Experience with REST APIs and building scalable API data platforms (e.g., FastAPI).
  • Experience with AWS, Snowflake, Kubernetes, and Airflow.
  • Comfortable with Linux and command line operations.
  • Understanding of ETL processes and event streaming technologies (such as Kafka, Flink, etc.).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with both business and technical teams.
