Senior Software Engineer Opportunity

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and delivering web-based systems, providing new insights into the Canonical workplace experience, and enabling new processes and improving existing workflows.

This role is ideal for an expert in two or more of the following areas: backend web service programming in Python and Node.JS, solid understanding of web development technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, data analytics and statistical analysis, natural language processing, sentiment analysis, machine learning, and data visualisation.

About the Role
  • Design and deliver web-based systems and SAAS
  • Provide new insights into the Canonical workplace experience
  • Enable new processes and improve existing workflows
  • Collaborate proactively with a distributed team
  • Write high-quality code to create new features
What You Will Do
  1. Design and develop web-based systems and applications
  2. Analyse business needs and requirements to inform system design
  3. Develop and maintain high-quality code
  4. Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to deliver projects
  5. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies
Requirements
  • Expertise in two or more of the following areas: backend web service programming in Python and Node.JS, solid understanding of web development technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, data analytics and statistical analysis, natural language processing, sentiment analysis, machine learning, and data visualisation
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines
