Senior Financial Manager Role:

This is a fully remote position aligned with the Sydney, Australia time zone and requiring a 38-hour work week. As a Senior Financial Manager, you will be responsible for managing financial operations and compliance, monitoring accounts receivable and payable, tracking spending and cash flow, and providing transaction data to bookkeepers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage payroll, superannuation, and ensure timely settlement of liabilities.
  • Monitor accounts receivable, follow up on payments, and ensure accurate invoicing.
  • Track spending, adhere to budgets, investigate transactions, and oversee cash flow and liabilities.
  • Provide transaction data to bookkeepers, ensure account reconciliation, and respond to financial inquiries.
  • Prepare financial reports for management, assist auditors, and provide financial insights for decision-making.

Requirements:

  • Chartered Accountant (CA) or Certified Practising Accountant qualification; post-graduate qualifications are highly regarded.
  • 5+ years in a senior financial role, preferably in non-profit or community organizations.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian financial regulations, including ATO, superannuation, ASIC, and ACNC frameworks.
  • Experience in financial planning, analysis, reporting, and policy development.
  • Proficiency in Xero, MS Excel/Google Sheets, and ideally Salesforce.
  • Leadership skills, results-driven, and team-building abilities.
  • High ethics and integrity, committed to the organization's mission.
  • Reliable, accountable, and capable of meeting deadlines in remote work settings.
