Job Summary:

Tax Filing Specialist Role

This position plays a pivotal role in our organization, focusing on the preparation and submission of personal, corporate, sales tax, and payroll tax returns. As a key team member, you will collaborate closely with clients to gather necessary information and address their tax-related queries.

Your attention to detail and organizational skills are crucial in ensuring that all filings are submitted promptly and adhere to the latest tax laws and regulations.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and submit personal (T1/1040), corporate (T2/1120), sales tax (GST/HST/VAT), and payroll tax returns.
  • Analyze financial documents, receipts, and statements to guarantee accurate reporting.
  • Communicate effectively with clients to gather required information and respond to their tax-related inquiries.
  • Evaluate compliance requirements and ensure timely submissions.
  • Respond to notices, audits, or inquiries from tax authorities.
  • Maintain accurate tax filing records and documentation.
  • Stay current on changes in tax legislation and compliance standards.
Requirements:
  • Tax Preparation Expertise: Possess experience in preparing personal or corporate tax returns.
  • Familiarity with Tax Authority Systems: Have knowledge of CRA, IRS, or other tax authority systems and deadlines.
  • Software Proficiency: Be proficient in tax preparation software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Ultra Tax Experience: Hold experience in using Ultra Tax.
  • Communication Skills: Demonstrate exceptional communication and client service abilities.
