Overseas Private Equity Fund Accountant

As a seasoned professional in private equity fund accounting, you will be based overseas and provide expert accounting services to private equity fund clients. Your responsibilities will include managing transaction preparation and processing, generating financial reports for review, and ensuring compliance with fund agreements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Transaction Preparation and Processing: Manage the preparation and processing of transactions for private equity fund clients, including generating financial reports for review.
  • Client Inquiries: Respond promptly and accurately to client inquiries, including those from investors.
  • Calculation Review: Review calculations for fees, such as management fees, capital calls, distributions, carried interest, and waterfall structures, ensuring compliance with fund agreements.
  • Investor Communications: Handle investor communications, including notices for capital calls and distributions, and address specific report and data analysis requests.
  • Financial Report Accuracy: Ensure the accuracy and compliance of quarterly and annual financial reports with accounting standards.
  • Year-End Audits: Support year-end audits by helping clients respond to external auditors' inquiries.
  • New Fund Onboarding: Aid in onboarding new funds and launching existing ones by defining customized service models.
  • Technology Solutions: Contribute to technology solutions that enhance reporting efficiency and reduce manual processes, focusing on automation.
  • Strategic Planning: Participate in strategic planning and process improvement initiatives to boost team performance and client service.
  • Industry Trends: Stay updated on industry trends and technological advancements, promoting automation to minimize manual entries and enhance client value.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Accounting Degree: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field with a focus on Accounting.
  • Accounting Qualification: An internationally recognized accounting qualification is highly valued.
  • Experience: At least 6 years of accounting experience, particularly in private equity, or a mix of audit/fund administration and private equity experience is preferred.
  • Accounting Standards: Familiarity with various accounting standards, including IFRS and US GAAP.
  • Geographic Location: Able to be based overseas.
