Senior Tax Accountant

We are seeking an experienced Senior Tax Accountant to join our team. The successful candidate will work closely with clients to support business operations and manage tasks.

  • Process financial statements from Trial Balance stage for lodgement with the Australian Taxation Office.
  • Prepare Business Activity Statements and Installment Activity Statements for submission to the Australian Taxation Office.
  • Maintain general ledgers by transferring subsidiary accounts, preparing trial balances, and reconciling entries.
  • Prepare private tax returns, trust, partnership tax returns, and End of Year compliance jobs.
  • Familiarity with Division 7a loans is required.
  • Ensure timely completion of tax reporting obligations.
  • Prepare and update tax provision schedules.
  • Analyze and correct process errors leading to incorrect tax filings and negotiate with tax authorities over tax payment issues.
  • Lead and mentor junior accountants, providing guidance on technical matters and delegating tasks effectively.
  • Supervise new accountants, review their work, and report to senior management.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A degree in Accountancy or Accounting Technology; Advantage if certified as a CPA.
  • A minimum of 4 years' experience in accounting and tax, with at least 4 years dedicated to AU tax accounting.
  • Leadership skills and a willingness to lead the team in the future.
  • Experience working in an accounting/audit firm is advantageous.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Effective time management skills.
