Accounting Professional Needed

  • We are seeking an accounting professional to fill the role of tax accountant. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of tax laws and regulations, as well as experience with tax software and tools.
  • The primary responsibility of this position will be to prepare tax returns for clients, including personal and business tax returns.
  • In addition to tax return preparation, the successful candidate will also be responsible for:
  • Contacting clients for information or documents required to complete returns
  • Conducting independent research of all necessary laws prior to submitting a return to the reviewer
  • Preparing tax projections and planning tasks for clients, such as determining tax liability and salary requirements
  • Handling correspondences with IRS and state agencies, including preparing payment plan paperwork and Powers of Attorney
  • Performing external bookkeeping, including adjusting balance sheets and handling year-end adjustments
  • Reviewing monthly and quarterly bookkeeping and preparing W-2s, W-3s, 1099s, and 1096s at year-end
  • Meeting with the tax manager to review priorities, budget, and weekly work plan
  • Maintaining proficiency in tax and accounting software/tools, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, QuickBooks, CCH Access/ProFX Tax, Intelliconnect Tax Research, Intelliforms, Tax Tools, CFS Payroll, Practice Management Time Entry, Accounting Research, PFX Tax Planning, Proseries Tax Planner, CCH Engagement External Bookkeeper
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance-related field
  • Licensed as a certified public accountant is a plus
  • Excellent grasp of all Microsoft 365 applications
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Aptitude in data management, analytics, and reporting preparation
  • Ability to function in an autonomous environment—independent worker, self-directed
