Job Title

A software maintenance engineer is a highly skilled professional responsible for ensuring the stability and performance of software applications.

About the Job

This role involves working with Linux-based infrastructure and applications, covering all layers of the stack, including bare metal, virtualization, containerization, storage, networking, OpenStack, Kubernetes, and open source applications.

The ideal candidate will have a strong academic track record, background in computer science or similar, experience with Linux and open source software, and proficiency in at least one programming language such as Python, Go, C, or C++.

Responsibilities
  • Resolve complex customer problems related to Ubuntu, kernel, Ceph, OpenStack, or Kubernetes and other open source software
  • Maintain a close working relationship with field, support, and product engineering teams
  • Participate in upstream communities and develop bug fixes, backport patches, and work with upstream for inclusion
  • Review code produced by other engineers and demonstrate good judgment in technical methods and techniques
Requirements
  • Exceptional academic track record
  • Background in computer science or similar
  • Experience with Linux and open source software
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Python, Go, C, or C++
  • Drive to learn unfamiliar technology and deep-dive difficult issues
