Credit and Collections

As a Credit and Collection professional, you will be responsible for ensuring that our clients receive timely payment for goods and services provided.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on overdue accounts via calls, emails, and letters to resolve any discrepancies or billing issues.
  • Assist in reviewing customer credit applications and preparing credit evaluations for approval to ensure alignment with company policies.
  • Coordinate with the Sales and Billing departments to identify areas of improvement in our credit control processes.
  • Record and process customer payments, ensuring accurate documentation and timely posting to prevent any delays in financial reporting.
  • Prepare aging reports and collection status updates for management review to inform strategic business decisions.
  • Maintain accurate customer records, payment histories, and contact logs to facilitate effective communication and minimize potential disputes.
  • Assist in the preparation and submission of collection-related reports and documentation to support business growth and development.
  • Support the implementation of credit control policies and procedures to maintain compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Recommend accounts for escalation or legal action when necessary to protect our interests.
  • Perform other finance-related tasks as may be assigned by the supervisor to contribute to the success of the team.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or any related field.
  • At least 1–2 years of experience in credit and collections, accounts receivable, or related role is preferred.
  • Experience in customer service or client communication is an advantage.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly MS Excel (e.g., formulas, pivot tables, VLOOKUP).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in handling financial records.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple accounts.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, especially in handling clients professionally.
  • Knowledge of credit and collection procedures and relevant legal guidelines.
  • Strong sense of responsibility and urgency.
  • Trustworthy and maintains confidentiality of financial information.
