Senior Accounting Professional

The Senior Accounting Professional will be responsible for taking ownership of internal and external reporting requirements, including monthly management reports, statutory reports, and vendor-facing financial summaries.

The role requires ensuring accurate and timely preparation and submission of AU and UK tax obligations, liaising with external stakeholders such as vendors, auditors, and tax authorities to meet compliance and reporting deadlines.

The ideal candidate will drive continuous improvement in reporting processes and templates, ensuring clarity, consistency, and accuracy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take ownership of internal and external reporting requirements
  • Ensure accurate and timely preparation and submission of AU and UK tax obligations
  • Liaise with external stakeholders to meet compliance and reporting deadlines
  • Drive continuous improvement in reporting processes and templates
  • Collaborate with the finance team for month-end and year-end close processes
  • Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and accruals with high attention to detail
  • Assist in the design, development, and automation of financial models and dashboards
  • Keep abreast of taxation changes, statutory requirements, and accounting standards in AU and the UK
  • Contribute to internal audits, compliance checks, and control reviews
  • Provide ad hoc financial analysis and insights to support strategic business decisions

The successful candidate will have a strong analytical and problem-solving mindset, excellent communication skills, and the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights. They will be comfortable working autonomously and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accountancy or related field
  • Proven experience in financial reporting and tax compliance, particularly in AU and UK contexts
  • Hands-on experience using Xero
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Excel and Google Sheets
  • Comfortable working with SQL for data extraction and analysis
