Financial Accountant Job Description

Our organization is seeking a skilled Financial Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in general ledger maintenance, journal entries, and ad hoc tasks.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform timely and accurate posting of accounting journal entries concerning the month-end
  • Complete assigned monthly balance sheet reconciliations accurately and on time
  • Assist with the external audit process
  • Contribute to the development of the high-performance culture by participating in group-wide projects
  • Act in the best interests of the organization by actively contributing to a safe and healthy working environment
  • Reconcile KPOS to the accounting ledger for assigned areas
  • Conduct sales and margin analysis
  • Assist in budgeting and preparation of month-end management reporting packs
  • Prepare statutory financial statements and supporting information

Requirements

  • Degree-level qualification in Accounting or Commerce
  • Certified Accountant or Certified Public Accountant preferred
  • Minimum 2-4 years' experience in an accounting role
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and standards (AASB/IFRS)
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of SAP or similar accounting software
  • Mature analytical skills and ability to interpret financial information
  • Proven report writing skills and excellent communication skills
