Key responsibilities include:
  • Preparing and completing year-end financial statements and tax returns for individuals, businesses, and entities in accordance with Australian tax laws
  • Managing BAS and IAS lodgments, payroll tax, FBT, Division 7A compliance, and liaising with the ATO to address any issues
  • Conducting tax research, providing strategic tax planning, and advising on business structuring to optimize client outcomes
  • Assisting with onboarding new clients by facilitating a smooth transition and ensuring all documentation is complete
  • Assisting in internal system and process improvements to enhance efficiency within the tax team
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field, with extensive hands-on experience in Australian tax within an accounting firm, specializing in SMEs. They will also have a comprehensive understanding of Australian tax regulations and guidelines, with tax planning and client-facing experience considered a strong advantage.This role requires exceptional attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively within a remote team. Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field
  • Extensive 4-5 years of hands-on experience in Australian tax within an accounting firm, specializing in SMEs
  • Comprehensive understanding of Australian tax regulations and guidelines
  • Experience or interest in management reporting, including budgeting, forecasting, and KPI tracking
  • Proficiency in Xero accounting software
  • Hands-on experience in bookkeeping and/or SMSF
