Patient Service Coordinator

We are seeking a detail-oriented Patient Service Coordinator to provide exceptional customer service over the phone, schedule appointments, and maintain accurate patient records.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet callers in a professional manner and address patient needs promptly.
  • Schedule primary care appointments, including annual exams, chronic care follow-ups, acute visits, and preventive screenings.
  • Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility, including co-pays, deductibles, and network status.
  • Maintain and update patient records accurately in electronic health records.
  • Assist with patient portal setup and troubleshooting.
  • Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure smooth patient flow and timely care delivery.
  • Respond to patient inquiries regarding test results, referrals, and follow-up instructions in alignment with practice policies.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience in a medical office setting, preferably in family medicine or internal medicine.
  • Proficiency in electronic health records, including scheduling, documentation, and patient communication features.
  • Strong knowledge of primary care visit types, referral processes, and insurance requirements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.

  • Expertise in family medicine/internal medicine scheduling protocols.
  • Proficiency in electronic health records.
  • Strong knowledge of insurance verification and referral coordination.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
