The Security Monitor is responsible for overseeing live surveillance of all sites monitored by the organization. This role plays a critical part in reducing fraud, ensuring safety, and maintaining policy compliance across monitored properties.

This position includes proactive review of staff activity, clocking out employees who leave the facility during their scheduled shifts, identifying violations of law or company policy, and ensuring proper staffing coverage by initiating calls for replacement staff when absences occur.

Responsibilities include monitoring live security camera feeds across multiple facilities, issuing disciplinary action as needed with approval, identifying and documenting unauthorized staff departures and clocking out employees who leave while still punched in, monitoring entrances/exits and providing door access for staff and approved visitors at high-security locations.

The monitor observes for theft, physical altercations, medical emergencies, or behavioral incidents and escalates appropriately. Responsibilities also include watching designated areas including medication carts, cash drawers, and food supply rooms, tracking scheduled shifts and initiating calls for replacement staff when on-duty personnel are absent or do not show up.

Incidents, observations, and enforcement actions are recorded in a daily security log, and notifications are made to supervisors and administrators immediately of any suspected abuse, neglect, theft, or policy violation.

External reporting requires reviewing and storing footage. Assisting with work-related tasks, remaining informed and compliant with regulations and standards, and participating in drills and safety trainings are additional responsibilities.

Confidentiality is maintained for records, especially those relating to client treatment or financial information. Participation in external and internal audits/surveys is directed by the supervisor, contributing to quality assurance and performance improvement plans by conducting audits and activities that ensure regulatory compliance.

Responding to after-hours alerts or calls to verify and investigate security-related issues is also part of the job.
