Business Risk Management Professional

  • The Business Risk Officer shall serve as the focal point in the effective administration, timely dissemination, and implementation of the bank's risk management program. This position is responsible for coordinating and overseeing the timely preparation of risk management policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines.
  • He/She shall also ensure that all personnel contribute to the attainment of the bank's risk management objectives. For business risk coordinators particularly of the bank's support units, they shall keep their business support functions with reporting lines remaining with the respective business units.

Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate the preparation of management and operating manuals related to assigned business area.
  • Review policies, standards, procedures, forms, templates, and/or other guidelines related to assigned business area.
  • Interpret/Clarify pertinent policies, standards, procedures, and other guidelines in coordination with document information owner.
  • Facilitate monitoring and/or perform annual review of policies, standards, procedures, and other guidelines related to assigned business area.
  • Disseminate approved policies, standards, procedures, and other guidelines to assigned business unit.
  • Assist in establishing an effective enterprise risk management program through coordination on implementation of risk management program.
  • Provide assistance/guidance on use of risk management tools and mechanisms relative to assigned business area.
  • Observance, verification, and evaluation of assigned business area's Business Continuity Plan testing exercise.
  • Communication with other risk stakeholders to discuss dependencies and coordination during risk assessment and mitigation of risks.
  • Coordination with risk management office and other stakeholders in relation to risk management initiatives/projects.
  • Report significant credit, market, liquidity, operational/IT, and other risk issues/incidents to management and risk management office.

Qualifications:

  • College graduate preferably of a business course with background on management, finance, accounting, economics, law, and/or information technology.
  • Relevant work experience in banking processes and operations and/or financial risk management.
  • Skills in analytics and research.
