Senior Accountant Role

This role involves leading the accounting team and overseeing financial reporting, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.

  • Review junior accountants' work to guarantee the quality and precision of financial statements, VAT returns, corporate tax returns, and other accounting deliverables before submission.
  • Oversee the preparation and submission of UK corporate tax returns, VAT returns, and P11Ds, while maintaining strict adherence to regulatory standards.
  • Supervise and review UK payroll processes to ensure compliance with HMRC regulations.
  • Assist in preparing statutory accounts for UK limited companies in accordance with UK accounting standards.
  • Provide guidance and constructive feedback to junior bookkeepers, while ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Maintain effective communication with clients regarding financial reports, tax matters, and compliance requirements.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To excel in this role, you will require:

  • Experience working in a UK accounting firm, with a solid understanding of UK accounting standards, regulations, and best practices.
  • A proven ability to review juniors' work, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • In-depth knowledge of UK corporate tax, VAT, P11Ds, and statutory accounts up until submission.
  • Extensive experience managing UK payroll and HMRC compliance.
  • Leadership and team delegation skills.
  • A strong working knowledge of Xero and other UK accounting software.
  • High-level accuracy, problem-solving ability, and analytical thinking.
  • Excellent communication skills with strong English language proficiency (written and verbal).
Desirable Skills

AACCA or equivalent qualification is preferred but not mandatory.
