Timely payment of invoices is a critical function in any organization. The Accounts Payable Specialist plays a key role in ensuring that payments are processed efficiently and effectively.

This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills. The ideal candidate will have experience with accounts payable processes, including verifying vendor information and processing payments.

The Accounts Payable Specialist will work closely with various departments, including accounting, procurement, and operations. This person will be responsible for managing the company's accounts payable tasks, including establishing vendor accounts, resolving issues, and maintaining accurate records.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Manage the company's accounts payable tasks within established systems.
  2. Verify and establish vendor accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  3. Maintain strong relationships with vendors, resolving questions and issues promptly.
  4. Process annual 1099 statements in a timely manner.
  5. Work collaboratively with accounting staff, engineers, and purchasers to assign project codes and general ledger coding.
  6. Develop and maintain accounts payable policies and procedures, adhering to internal controls.
  7. Assist with monthly account reconciliations and variance expense analysis.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance/Accounting or equivalent experience.
  • Understanding of US GAAP principles.
  • 1-3 years of AP and/or General Ledger accounting experience.
  • Proficiency in month-end processes.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with MS Office, including Excel and Word.

Preferred Skills:

  • Coupa experience.
  • NetSuite procure-to-pay process knowledge.
