Financial Operations Manager

The Accounting and Financial Operations Specialist will assist in the management of monthly financial reviews, bank feed updates, payroll recording, client communications, and periodic accounting clean-up.
Responsibilities:- Process Bank Feeds: Code transactions from each bank or credit card account according to established procedures. Serve 25+ clients once trained.
- Bank Account Reconciliations: Assist with end-of-month reconciliation for assigned client accounts (25+).
- Credit Card Reconciliations: Reconcile client credit card activity.
- Monthly Financial Review: Follow up with clients on unrecorded income/expenses; cross-check statements for accuracy; respond to client questions about coding decisions.
- Payroll Recording: Record payroll transactions using templates; prepare journal entries; upload to QuickBooks and/or Xero; book benefit bills; reconcile clearing accounts.
- Accounting Cleanup: Assist with cleanup in areas such as revenue coding, payroll, balance sheet accounts; maintain strong accounting practices and attention to detail.
- Background in Accounting or understanding of basic accounting principles.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets.
- Good written communication.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Detail-oriented; able to learn new concepts with written and hands-on support.
- Experience in QuickBooks Online (QBO).
- Experience in Xero.
- Understanding of property management accounting.
- Familiarity with the NARPM Standard Chart of Accounts.
- Experience in AppFolio or related reports.
- Payroll processing and payroll tax filing experience.
- Prior experience with financial auditing or financial review.
This role requires strong technical skills, excellent communication skills, and a willingness to learn and adapt to new processes and systems. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to work independently in a remote environment.
