Job Title: Staff Accountant

BikesOnline Australia is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support our financial operations. The ideal candidate will maintain accurate financial records, ensure timely processing of transactions, and support various accounting functions for an Australian e-commerce business.

  • Maintain precise and timely recording of daily financial transactions in accordance with Australian accounting standards and taxation regulations.
  • Store and organize data for compliance and audit purposes.
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable, including daily and weekly reconciliations and aging monitoring.
  • Process and code vendor invoices and customer payments promptly.
  • Assist in month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded.
  • Conduct monthly bank, credit card, supplier, and balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial records.
  • Collaborate in preparing schedules and documentation for external audits.
  • Support the preparation of financial reports as requested by management.
  • Collaborate with Operations and Category Management for inventory invoice entries aligned with purchase orders, credit applications and new vendor setups.
  • Prepare payroll for Australian employees and coordinate invoicing for remote contractors to ensure timely and accurate payments.
  • Identify areas for process improvements and work with other departments to enhance internal controls and efficiency.
Required Skills And Qualifications
  • A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) qualification preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting, preferably in e-commerce or retail.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Strong understanding of Australian accounting principles and tax regulations.
  • Experience in complex reconciliation processes and the ability to resolve discrepancies.
  • Excellent attention to detail and high accuracy.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet deadlines.
  • Fluent in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Familiarity with e-commerce platforms and inventory management systems is a plus.
