Role Overview

The Software Engineering Manager is responsible for leading a team to optimize and expand gaming capabilities on Ubuntu, focusing on the Steam Snap.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage project timelines, collaborate with stakeholders, conduct code reviews, and work with upstream projects and partners to enhance gaming features.
  • Lead team members in meeting project objectives, providing technical guidance, and ensuring successful project delivery.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent experience
  • Prior experience in software project management, preferably in Linux-based environments
  • Excellent leadership and collaboration skills, with ability to motivate and direct team members
  • Familiarity with Linux graphics stack and low-level kernel drivers, as well as exceptional problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with ability to effectively communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders
