Job Overview

The Senior Risk Manager will play a pivotal role in supporting commissions and providing line management leadership to others within the Project Management Office and planning centre of excellence.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Manage and lead the implementation and delivery of risk services on assigned projects.
  • Accountable for the risk management performance of assigned projects.
  • Create effective risk management frameworks/strategies on assigned projects.
  • Direct stakeholders, consultants, contractors, and project teams on all risk management matters.
  • Partner with clients to meet their expectations and build strong professional relationships.
  • Provide expert advice and support to project/programme teams in the administration of the risk process.
  • Facilitate and drive the delivery of risk workshops.
  • Work with Project Managers to identify opportunities and mitigate risks.
  • Ensure risk mitigation action plans are developed and risk and action owners are appointed.
  • Lead the delivery of project/programme quantitative risk analysis (cost and time).
  • Comment on the adequacy of contingency as part of the regular reporting cycle.
  • Develop and deliver monthly risk reports to clients and project teams.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience delivering project risk management services on major construction projects.
  • Good understanding of construction projects, interfaces, and dependencies within the project lifecycle.
  • Deep domain knowledge of providing risk leadership in one or more sectors (e.g., rail, highways, nuclear, public sector, hospitals).
  • Experience of effective risk leadership on complex construction projects.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of risk tools, techniques, and software.
