Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and compassionate Virtual Medical Receptionist to provide exceptional patient care and support in our remote team.

About the Role

This pivotal position serves as the first point of contact for patients, requiring outstanding customer service skills while efficiently managing administrative tasks. Primary responsibilities include answering phone calls, scheduling appointments, updating patient records, and ensuring seamless communication between patients and healthcare providers. The ideal candidate will possess empathy, strong organizational skills, and the ability to handle inquiries with professionalism and warmth.

Responsibilities
  • Answer and manage incoming phone calls and inquiries from patients, providing clear and concise information
  • Schedule appointments and maintain the medical provider's calendar accurately and efficiently
  • Collect and update patient information accurately in the electronic health record system
  • Provide patients with information about services, procedures, and protocols
  • Handle patient check-ins and follow-up communications with a warm and professional demeanor
  • Collaborate with other medical staff to ensure quality patient care
  • Assist in managing administrative tasks to support office operations, including data entry and filing
Requirements
  • Previous experience as a medical receptionist or in a similar administrative role
  • Strong understanding of medical office procedures, including HIPAA regulations
  • Excellent communication skills, with a friendly and professional demeanor
  • Proficient in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and scheduling software
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment, with minimal supervision
  • Familiarity with insurance processes is a plus
  • Ability to handle sensitive patient information with confidentiality and discretion
