Job Title: Financial Operations Manager with Expertise in Non-Profit Accounting

Job Description

The Senior Accountant position requires an experienced professional to lead the financial operations of our organization. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial information, preparing financial reports, and maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements.

Your primary focus will be on managing financial transactions, preparing asset, liability, revenue, and expense entries, and maintaining the general ledger. You will also be responsible for summarizing financial status, performing monthly, quarterly, and annual close responsibilities, and partnering with cross-functional teams to ensure efficient processes.

In addition, you will manage proper deliverables to external auditors, lead internal audit engagements, complete external audits, avoid legal challenges by complying with legal requirements, secure financial information, protect the organization's financial information, and assist with month-end close and other projects as needed.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree and more than seven years of experience in finance or accounting or a related area
  • Extensive experience in US non-profit accounting including reporting and compliance (tax)
  • Knowledge of U.S. GAAP and/or IFRS
  • Certified Public Accountant is a plus
  • Experience in a Big 4 firm is a plus
  • Strong MS Excel skills
  • Experience developing financial reports and metrics
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact with various management levels
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to a changing, fast-paced environment
  • Strong Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills
  • Superior attention to detail and ability to manage multiple competing priorities while maintaining the big picture
  • Demonstrated ability to influence others through effective verbal and written communication
  • Demonstrated ability to drive projects across an organization
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
