Virtual Mental Health Coding Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Virtual Medical Biller/Coder to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in medical coding, preferably in a psychiatry or mental health setting. They will be responsible for accurately and efficiently coding medical diagnoses and procedures for a psychiatry practice.

Responsibilities:
  • Coding: Assign accurate ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes to patient diagnoses and procedures based on clinical documentation within electronic health records (EHRs).
  • Coding Compliance: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of coding guidelines, regulations, and payer requirements. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality.
  • Billing and Revenue Cycle: Work closely with billing staff to resolve coding-related claim denials and rejections. Assist in the development and implementation of coding policies and procedures.
Requirements:
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical coding, preferably in a psychiatry or mental health setting.
  • Knowledge: Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems. Familiarity with medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
  • Skills: Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

The successful candidate will be highly organized, have excellent time management skills, and be able to work independently with minimal supervision. They will also have a strong commitment to delivering high-quality results and meeting deadlines.
