This role plays a pivotal part in ensuring data accuracy and consistency across various business functions.
Key Responsibilities:- Maintain precise product/service classification and taxonomy, encompassing industry standards like UNSPSC codes.
- Ensure high-quality data and compliance with established classification norms, collaborating with strategy and procurement teams as necessary.
- Analyze market trends, pricing dynamics, supply chain risks, and geographical opportunities to align classification with organizational needs.
- Support procurement systems with accurate category information and facilitate supplier and product data updates.
- Identify gaps or inconsistencies in classification data and provide training to internal stakeholders on classification standards.
- Contribute to category reporting requirements and participate in initiatives aimed at enhancing classification efficiency.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Management, or a related field is preferred.
- Familiarity with industry classification systems, including UNSPSC and IMPA codes, is an asset.
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in procurement operations, data management, or category support is required.
- At least 2 years of experience in a data-focused role, preferably in classification maintenance.
- Proven expertise in data quality assurance and taxonomy upkeep, with attention to detail and precision.
- Ability to interpret and apply classification standards while working collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
