Job Overview

This senior bookkeeper role involves leading onboarding and cleanup projects, mentoring junior bookkeepers, and maintaining standard operating procedures to ensure financial operations remain robust and reliable.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review junior bookkeeper outputs for quality and consistency.
  • Lead accounts payable and accounts receivable processes: invoice preparation, approval flows, reconciliation, and timely payment.
  • Manage onboarding and cleanup workflows for new client accounts, ensuring efficient transition and accurate record-keeping.
  • Maintain and enhance process documentation, promoting best practices and standardization across the organization.
  • Ensure compliance with US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and internal standards, guaranteeing accuracy and transparency in financial reporting.
  • Train and coach junior bookkeepers, fostering their growth and development within the organization.
  • Effectively manage multiple clients, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines for month-end close, ensuring seamless financial operations.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience, with a strong background in full-cycle bookkeeping and financial cleanup.
  • Deep understanding of US GAAP, including knowledge of financial regulations, tax laws, and industry standards.
  • Experience with QuickBooks, Xero, or similar platforms, with proficiency in data analysis, financial modeling, and workflow optimization.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, analytical skills, and process adherence, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all financial operations.
  • Strong leadership capability, mentoring experience, and ability to train and develop team members.
  • Track record of creating or refining efficient workflows, streamlining processes, and improving overall productivity.
