Ventra Health is a leading business solutions provider for facility-based physicians practicing anesthesia, emergency medicine, hospital medicine, pathology, and radiology.

Key Responsibilities
  1. The Chart Research Specialist reviews medical records to ensure necessary documents are indexed properly.
  2. Ensures completeness of medical records within the electronic medical records system by identifying and obtaining missing chart information including signatures from physicians and other pertinent personnel.
  3. Reports on incomplete medical records based on deadlines given.
  4. Conducts Review of Systems (ROS), Exam, HPI, and MD Notes.
  5. Retrieves existing medical records from Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems.
  6. Scans and inputs documents.
  7. Verifies that information is indexed appropriately.
  8. Pulls down medical records through Automated Tasks.
  9. Logs into hospital systems and downloads registration logs and demographic data.
  10. Documents work processes as required.
  11. Creates new entries and sub-files as needed with correct medical record numbers.
  12. Monitors the performance of Automated Tasks.
  13. Performs special projects and other duties assigned.
Education And Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • At least one (1) year of experience handling patient health information and/or medical records preferred.
Required Skills
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
  • Working knowledge of department roles and responsibilities.
  • Knowledge of Electronic Medical Records (EMRs) such as Cerner, Meditech, Epic, PICIS.
  • Strong supervisory/management skills.
  • Strong critical thinking skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Strong word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software skills.
  • Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to take initiative and effectively troubleshoot while focusing on innovative solutions.
  • Ability to read, understand, and apply state/federal laws, regulations, and policies.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and handle highly sensitive and confidential information appropriately.
  • Ability to remain flexible and work within a collaborative and fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to communicate with diverse personalities in a tactful, mature, and professional manner.
