The team covers a wide range of data technologies, from big data, NoSQL, cache-layer capabilities, and analytics, all the way to structured SQL engines like Postgres and MySQL. Your focus will be on building scalable data solutions for Kubernetes and cloud machines.

As an Engineering Manager, you will lead a team by example, demonstrating sound engineering skills and contributing code directly when needed. You will set and manage expectations with other engineering teams, senior management, and external stakeholders.

  • Lead a team focused on Big Data and MySQL databases
  • Develop and evangelize great engineering and organizational practices
  • Grow a healthy, collaborative engineering culture aligned with the company's values
Key Responsibilities:
  • Hire, coach, mentor, provide feedback, and lead your team
  • Effectively communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive business outcomes
Requirements:
  • Software engineering background, preferably with Python and Golang experience
  • Experience running in production and at scale, preferably Big Data or MySQL
  • Excellent judgement about people - their motivations, abilities, developmental needs, and prospects for success
