Job Description

We are seeking a skilled professional to fill the role of Laboratory Analyst I. This position involves conducting analyses and reporting test results in accordance with established policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform sampling, testing, and analysis as defined in the Matrix of Laboratory Tests and Analyses.
  • Prepare reagents and test solutions, and standardize volumetric solutions in accordance with standard test methods.
  • Participate in various proficiency/correlation programs.
  • Operate and maintain equipment used in performing analyses.
  • Read, understand, and follow proper standard operating procedures.
  • Analyze and interpret standard laboratory test results.
  • Prepare and update reports related to analyses performed.
  • Sign worksheets and job instructions.
  • Maintain routine documentation, including worksheets, log sheet entries, sample documentations.
  • Coach lab analysts, technicians, aides, and OJTs on the performance of tests, analyses, and sample preparation.
  • Maintain a workplace in a safe and orderly condition.
  • Prepare purchase requests for laboratory supplies.
  • Request cash advances subject to review by immediate superiors and approval of Laboratory Operations Manager.
Qualifications
  • Education: Must have at least a University or College degree in BS Chemistry, BS Biochemistry, Environmental Science, Chemical Engineering, or Agrichemistry.
  • Licensed Chemist or Chemical Technician.
