Job Summary

The Accounting Operations Specialist will collaborate with accounting staff, account managers, and clients to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential for maintaining professionalism and clarity in all interactions. The ideal candidate will possess technical expertise and a client-focused mindset, consistently delivering high-quality service with a proactive and solution-oriented approach.

This role is responsible for the oversight and acceptance of all payments to client vendors. The specialist will oversee monthly financial close practices for a portfolio of customers, preparing short and long-term financial and managerial reporting. Reconciling monthly activity, generating year-end reports, and fulfilling tax-related requirements are also key responsibilities.

In addition to these duties, the Accounting Operations Specialist will administer payroll and employee benefits, as well as organizational insurance. They will lead on work management activities, ensuring that client requests are resolved and communicated in a timely manner to internal and external parties.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage day-to-day processing of accounts receivable and payable using QuickBooks Online, producing reports as requested for a portfolio of clients.
  • Provide client-specific bookkeeping and accounting services.
  • Prepare performance evaluations and assist with employee development.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years full charge bookkeeping or accounting experience.
  • Experience providing A/R, A/P and payroll functions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients, team members and outside vendors verbally and in writing.
  • Proficiency with QuickBooks, Bill.com, Expensify, GSuite.
  • High level of general computer knowledge; comfortable learning new programs and tools.
  • Strong ability to meet deadlines & handle multiple assignments.
  • Proven ability to work in a self-directed manner, with initiative and exceptional follow-through.
  • Sound judgment, strong decision-making skills & abundant common sense.
  • High attention to detail, organized, and assertive.
  • Prior experience working in a multi-client environment.
  • Friendly demeanor with a positive can-do spirit; takes pride in high-quality work.
