About the Role:
The Payroll Specialist is responsible for processing payroll from start to finish in compliance with local regulations per assigned site(s) and assisting in projects related to payroll as needed.
Key Responsibilities:- Processing semi-monthly payroll for Egypt.
- Addressing and resolving employee, management, and government agency inquiries.
- Generating and sending reports.
- Assisting with internal and external audit requirements.
- Reconciling payroll data.
- Conducting payroll talks and focus group discussions.
- Maintaining payroll system updated.
- Generating and sending reports to Operations for exceptions and items to be corrected for payroll transmission.
- Reviewing and processing payroll discrepancies and completing entries in the payroll system accordingly.
- Coordinating with agencies for tax and social insurance reporting and payments.
- Coordinating issue resolution with payroll vendor regarding payroll processing, changes, and inquiries.
- Maintaining payroll records current with relevant pay period data for auditing and reference purposes in compliance with local regulation requirements for record retention and handling of private and sensitive data.
- Participating in gathering Payroll information for different businesses.
- Collecting and Validating payroll data in Payroll Register matches information submitted to the vendor or what was entered in the payroll system as applicable.
- Completing multiple validation reports to ensure Gross to Net is calculated properly for each payroll run.
- Processing termination cases.
- Ensuring timely payments of statutory dues, social insurance, Martyrs, and Tax.
- Processing off-cycle payments.
- Participating in payroll orientation for new hires.
- Processing year-end and annual tax reconciliation and preparation of employee and employer tax returns.
- Identifying root cause and assisting in proposing solutions to payroll impacting issues.
- Reconciling and verifying timely and accurate payroll tax and contribution payments are done.
- Communicating and contributing to providing data to key business owners such as Human Resources, Finance, Operations, and other approved contacts.
- Reconciling payroll registers vs bank account transactions and accounting entries.
- High school diploma required.
- Bachelor's Degree with emphasis on business or accounting preferred.
- Experience with computerized payroll processing.
- Experience with ORACLE/WD systems a plus.
- Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Must be detail-oriented.
- Able to meet deadlines.
- International Payroll processing experience preferred.
- Multi-state payroll processing.
- Outstanding customer service.
- Excellent written and verbal communication. Ability to communicate with all levels across various departments.
- Able to work in fast-paced and high-volume process environment.
- Diligent in following through to guarantee full completion of task or issue.
- Should be able to work independently to ensure day-to-day functions and projects are completed and should be able to work as a team for collaboration, projects, or achievement of team and company goals.
- Use all resources available to resolve issues and escalate as needed to the manager.
- Be able to respond assertively regarding payroll matters.
- Must have a good sense of urgency.
- Able to sit for long periods.
- Activities may also involve walking, standing, speaking, and listening to.
