Job Description

The Team Lead is a key role of international withholding tax processing. The incumbent ensures that team requests, records, and manages client tax documentation, and accurately identifies, processes, and tracks tax relief at source or reclaims on behalf of the global client base to ensure maximum tax benefits.

The responsibilities of this role include:

  • Managing a team of focused individuals
  • Organizing work assignments, setting short-term priorities, monitoring activities, and ensuring timely and accurate completion
  • Possessing leadership and organizational skills required to prioritize tasks and provide feedback to staff
  • Managing operational risk within the process through identification of risk points, adherence to procedures, and maintenance of adequate skilled resources
  • Ensuring tax reclaims are processed in a timely and accurate manner
  • Monitoring and closing out all queries within required deadlines
  • Engaging with Global Sub-Custodians and Tax Agents
  • Participating in Operational Risk Assessments
  • Tracking and Monitoring Tax Technical Changes
Required Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Strong time-management skills with the ability to effectively prioritize tasks for both self and team according to their level of urgency and importance
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) and organizational skills
  • Fundamental technical knowledge of Tax Operations gained through significant exposure to business disciplines operating at a senior level
  • Leadership skills
  • A track record of implementing process improvements
  • Strong awareness of risk management and ability to understand when to escalate issues
  • An understanding of custodial responsibilities pertaining to withholding tax management
