Job Title: Open Source Advocate

We are seeking a skilled technical expert to join our Developer Relations team. This role combines practical engineering skills with strong communication and diplomacy abilities.

The ideal candidate will be a programmer or developer with a passion for open-source software, experience working with real-world challenges, and a deep understanding of Linux software packaging.

This position requires close collaboration with other teams to establish common approaches and consistent practices.

  • Maintain conversations with developer community members
  • Help solve specific technical problems
  • Contribute insight and expertise to team product meetings

Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A demonstrable passion for and engagement in open-source software
  • Practical hands-on experience with Linux software packaging (including Snaps, debs, charms, rocks, PIP, containers)
  • Understanding of current software packing issues and trends in the Linux ecosystem
  • Experience as a contributor to open-source communities, software, and documentation
  • Presentation and communication skills
