ICT Support Specialist Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced ICT support specialist to join our team. As an ICT support specialist, you will be responsible for providing technical assistance and support to our users.

This role involves troubleshooting hardware, software, and telephony issues, as well as maintaining accurate records of faults and resolutions. You will also be responsible for ensuring that all hardware and software installations and upgrades are implemented in accordance with Service Level Agreements.

About the Role
  • Provide first and second-level desktop support to customers and team members.
  • Respond to requests for assistance by providing information to enable users to resolve their problems.
  • Maintain accurate log entries of faults with resolution and contact details.
  • Maintain accurate log entries of all times whilst on shift.
  • Ensure all hardware/software installations and routine upgrades are implemented according to Service Level Agreements.
  • Provide a professional service by ensuring requests are regularly updated and realistic resolution times are provided.
  • Provide an effective interface between users and service providers, supplying all necessary diagnostic information according to procedures.
  • Evaluate technical queries not progressing and escalate to Network Engineers according to established procedures.
  • Participate in ongoing team training.
Requirements
  • At least 2-3 years of relevant IT support experience coupled with relevant tertiary qualifications.
  • Sound technical knowledge of desktop hardware and both standard and customized (in-house) software.
  • Sound analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good time management and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple problems at once and prioritize issues.
  • Strong customer service focus.
  • Sound knowledge of the organization's Standard Operating Environment (SOE)
  • Excellent English communication skills, written and verbal.
